FOLKLORE

Since ancient times, a vast assortment of trolls, elves, giants, and other magic beings have inhabited the Scandinavian mountains, forests and folk beliefs. Trolls and giants were part of the Norse mythology and coexisted with Odin and Thor and the other Norse gods. Throughout the centuries, they have scared, thrilled and enchanted children of all ages.

Trolls come in all shapes and sizes.

The Swedish artist John Bauer

(1882 - 1918) created wonderful pictures of trolls and elves that have delighted generations of children. Unfortunately, books with his illustrations appear to be out of print. But with a little help from the elves, you may find some among eBay's art prints or books, or at half.com.
