Ham and Cheese |
Roast Beef with Deep Fried Onion and Aspic |

Pumpernickel or other dark bread Butter or margarine Sliced ham Sliced cheese (Swiss, Havarti or Jarlsberg) Lettuce Tomato Parsley Butter the bread and place a leaf of lettuce on it. Place a slice of cheese on top of the lettuce. Arrange the ham, slightly twisted or rolled as a cone, on top of the cheese. Garnish with a tomato wedge and a sprig of parsley

Pumpernickel or other dark bread Butter or margarine Thinly sliced roast beef Lettuce Onions Oil Beef bouillon or broth Gelatin Aspic: Heat one can of beef bouillon and stir in the contents of one envelope unflavored gelatin powder. Chill until fully jelled. Chop. Onions: Heat oil. Cut onions in half lengthwise and slice. Deep fry in oil about 5 minutes or until brown and crisp. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle lightly with salt. Let them cool. Butter the bread and arrange lettuce, roast beef, aspic and onions on top. |
