1 cup pickled herring 5-6 pickled beets 3 tbs beet picking liquid 1 dill pickle 3-4 boiled potatoes 1-2 apples White pepper Whipping cream ( 1 hardboiled egg Parsley Dice herring, beets, pickle, potatoes and apples. Mix and spice with pepper. Add beet pickling liquid and stir. Whip cream and fold in. Garnish with chopped egg and parsley. |

1 cucumber, preferably European style (1 1/2-2 American) 1 cup white wine vinegar 1/2 cup sugar 1 tsp salt Dash of white pepper 4 tbs chopped dill (4 tsps dried dill) or parsley Wash the cucumber. If you use the European style cucumber you don't have to peel it. If using American cucumbers peel them. Slice thinly. Mix vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper and the chopped dill or parsley and add the cucumber. Refrigerate for one or more hours before serving. |
