The Royal Palace

Left: Stockholm's Royal Palace, seen here thru a narrow street, is located in Old Town (Gamla Stan), the oldest part of Stockholm. Click here to read more about the Palace, including tours and open hours.

Right: Click on the leftmost triangle on the control panel under the picture to view a short movie clip of the parade. ( It may take a while to load, so please have patience and look at the rest of the page while you wait. When you see the horses it is ready to play.)

Click here for the Royal Guards' Website with information about parade times.

St George and the Dragon

This statue on Köpmantorget (the Merchant Square) is a copy in bronze of the St George and the Dragon statue that can be seen in Storkyrkan (Stockholm's Cathedral), also located in the Old Town.

Streets in the Old Town

Most of the houses in the Old Town are from the 17th and 18th centuries.

The town was a slum until a few decades ago, but it is now renovated and is a charming place to visit.
